With over 3 acres (135 000 ft2) of projects completed on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, Paradise Cityscapes is the region's leading green roof installer. When working with pre-grown systems, we work closely with the manufacturers to ensure proper installation, according to specifications. We are qualified to install a number of pre-grown systems, and are always interested in working with new and creative proprietary designs. As experienced installers of many different green roof systems, Paradise Cityscapes are qualified designers of residential and commercial projects. Design – Garyali Architect Inc. Sharp and Diamond Landscape Architects Location – Duncan, BC Description – The new Cowichan Campus of VIU is Vancouver Island's largest green roof. The 40,000 ft2 intensive/extensive green roof features interlocking brick paving, concrete slab paving, concrete and cedar benches, recycled plastic lumber planters with steel trellis' and Gabriola Island-sourced boulder benches. All tree and vine planters have permanent irrigation with reclaimed water. The vast majority of plants installed are native species.

Campbell River City Hall

Client – City of Campbell River, City Hall
Design – Sharp and Diamond Landscape Architects Location – Campbell River, BC Description – This 11500 ft2 green roof is a retrofit of Campbell River City Hall's 25 year-old building. The upper portion consists of an ultra-shallow depth extensive green roof planted almost entirely with sedums. The lower courtyard has extensive plantings as well a cedar deck and pergola, concrete benches and retaining walls. |
Burnside Gorge Community Hall

Client – City of Victoria, Burnside-Gorge Community Hall Location – Victoria, BC Design – Garyali Architect Inc. Sharp and Diamond Landscape Architects Description – Nestled into the hillside of Cecelia Ravine Park in Victoria's Burnside neighbourhood, this green roof is an accessible public park. With gravel paths meandering around the perimeter, people can walk across the roof from bench to bench. The 11,400 ft2 roof is planted entirely with native plants and has gravel swaths and river rock to add aesthetic appeal. |

Dockside Green

Design – Small and Rossell Landscape Architects Location – Victoria, BC Description – Mimicking the natural coastline of Victoria's gorge waterway, this green roof features gravel, river rock and driftwood bands separating the planting spaces. Irrigated with recycled water, this roof features native plantings of sedums, wildflowers and grasses. |
Barkley Residence

Design – Christian Barnard Land Studio Ltd. Location – Oak Bay, BC Description – This installation above a new house in Victoria's Gonzalas neighbourhood features a pregrown modular system. The affect was instant coverage of the mixed sedum species. The modules were contained by gravel borders and aluminum edging.

Cedar HIll Recreational Centre

Design – Location – Victoria, BC Description – The addition to the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre has a steeply-sloped, modified butterfly roof. There are several grassy berms of deeper soil cutting across vast sedum plantings. This roof is an excellent example of a loose-laid green roof as can be seen in our time lapse of soil loading and planting |
