Paradise Cityscapes is a full-service landscape contractor - we create spaces for plants and places for people to enjoy them, and in doing so we make your property both beautiful and functional. Wherever possible, we encourage our customers to go for a sustainable greenspace with an emphasis on material recycling, locally-native planting schemes and efficient water management. However, we have and will continue to install whatever style of garden requested by our clients. Our approach can be blended with conventional landscape features such as ornamental flower beds and vegetable gardens to suit your taste. Client – Private Residence Design – Paradise Cityscapes Location – North Saanich, BC Description – This waterfront property just shy of an acre is extensively landscaped with multiple water falls, stone pathways and steps, an outdoor fireplace and a very diverse plant selection. The rugged, sloping terrain required many sandstone steps and one area features a native-inspired woodland garden underneath a Douglas fir and arbutus canopy where invasive species were previously rampant. Union of BC Municipalities, Municipal House

Client – Union of BC Municipalities, Municipal House Design - Small and Rossell Landscape Architects Location – Victoria, BC Description – This garden in downtown Victoria features the most innovative design of any project that Paradise has been involved. The building features an extensive green roof and the entire landscape aside from municipal sidewalks is pervious. Below permeable interlocking pavers is an integrated tree and stormwater system where water is collected for summer irrigation and the excess is reabsorbed into the ground through a rain garden. The landscape is entirely native except for wall climbers and some green roof sedum species. |

Design – Paradise Cityscapes Location – Cordova Bay, BC Description – This oceanfront residence features large areas of interlocking brick paving with inlays. A boulder-terraced garden leading the sandy beach features a plant list suited to full-sun summers and windy salt-spray in the winters. In addition a stream meanders down the slope to where it ends in a waterfall. |

Monterey Residence

Client – Private Residence Design – Jane Waters Designs Location – Oak Bay, BC Description – The prominent feature in this Oak Bay backyard is a multi-level cedar deck with hidden fasteners, lighting, a built-in bench and a sunken hot tub. At the foot of the deck is a Bluestone patio with groundcover joints and a pathway leading to a 'hookah' shed. The spaced was finished with a new lawn and additional plantings. |

Design – Jane Waters Designs Location – Victoria, BC Description – One of Paradise's earlier installations, this Rockland property features hydrapressed slab paving, custom cedar and aircraft cable fences set in a refurbished stone wall with a poured concrete cap. Clematis and passiflora species can be seen climbing the cable trellis' on the building walls and interwoven though the fences. Masonry by Ken Pritchard |
